This year’s Summer of Sadness is coming to the end of another great show, and to add to the fun of the final show, maine shared a cover Taylor Swift“Cruel Summer”. It’s a perfect fit for their latest playlist, as the pop-rock band covered Lorde’s “Royals,” blink-182’s “I Miss You” and Smash Mouth’s “All Star” as they traveled across the U.S. for their Emo Festival tour.
“We couldn’t get tickets for the Taylor Swift tour, so we decided to cover ‘Cruel Summer’ so we could have our own concert on the tour bus,” singer John O’Callaghan said. “Now we just have to make some bootleg t-shirts as if we were sitting in the front row. Hope you like it!”

The Maine band are also preparing to release their ninth studio album, which will be released on August 1st. Ahead of the album’s arrival, the band has shared two singles, “how to exit a room” and “blame,” which will hit the record’s release day at 8123 Day in Denver. That evening, Maine will feature opener “True Friends” and “Knuckle Puck” at the Fillmore Auditorium.
