So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
IF IT RAINS – DEMO
New England’s If It Rains share members with Anklebiter, Broken Vow, No Model, Ultimatium, Pummel, and more, and they make the kind of melodic hardcore that’s indebted to local heroes like Have Heart, Bane, and American Nightmare. Here’s their new demo for Delayed Gratification Records.

JAMES ELKINGTON AND NATHAN SALSBURG – “BUFFALO STANCE” (NENEH CHERRY COVER)
James Elkington and Nathan Salsburg have announced All Gist, their third album of guitar duets, that will be out April 12 via Paradise of Bachelors. The first single is this very cool take on Neneh Cherry’s iconic 1988 debut single, “Buffalo Stance.” Says Salsburg: “While playing a few rounds of Neneh Cherry’s transcendent ‘Buffalo Stance’ for my toddler, I was struck for the first time (at least since c. 1988) by how fantastic some of its riffs are. I suggested to Jim that we work up an arrangement for two guitars. Jim was initially doubtful — it’s a lot of rapping — but within an hour he sent back a one-guitar demo of most of the constituent melodic elements. It sent me into paroxysms of joy, only exceeded by the eventual thrill of sitting down together and hammering out our collaborative version.”
