Meet Me @ The Altar are readying the deluxe edition of their debut album, Past // Present // Future, which comes with four new tracks. They’ve already shared “Give It Up,” and now the pop-punk trio are back with another preview ahead of its Sept. 29 release.
“Take Me Away” is a cover from the Disney classic Freaky Friday that Lindsay Lohan plays with her fictional band Pink Slip at a battle of the bands toward the end of the film. Here, Meet Me @ The Altar take us back to the 2000s with a version that ups the riffs (and bangs live).

“Aside from it just being an absolutely iconic moment in pop culture, ‘Take Me Away,’ Pink Slip, and Freaky Friday as a whole had a lot of influence over us growing up,” the band say. “It’s everything we love all meshed into one — female representation in punk music, and on screen! Being able to pay homage to such an endless well of inspiration to us was really gratifying. It really takes you back to an era that I think we all miss.”
