Mondo Generator announces new album, we are against you, arriving on October 27 via Heavy Psych Sounds. The Nick Oliveri-led band also shared lead single “Death March.”
The Mondo Generator has been one of Oliveri’s core creative outlets since his time at Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age. As heard on “Death March,” the band continues to push out groovey stoner rock with a punk rock edge. Oliveri’s voice is as frenetic and acerbic as ever.
“‘Death March’ is for everyone who refuses to back down, to give in, to submit to authority,” Oliveri said at a news conference.
Of what he calls the band’s “heaviest” album to date, he added: “Nine songs full of fire, anger and anxiety! Some songs reflect my own personal thoughts, others about family and close friends who died or committed suicide, others about my experiences during the Covid-19 lockdown. This is a record of real emotion, not of the weak.”
Mondo Generator has had a revolving door lineup over the years and Oliveri (bassist and vocals) is currently supported by guitarist Mike Pygmie and drummer Mike Amster.
