toronto band mother tongueThe band, led by guitarist and vocalist Lukas Cheung and vocalist and bassist Charise Aragoza, is about to release its debut album, vicious love, this Friday (7/21) via Wavey Haze Records. Zhang, who co-produced the album with Asher Gould Murtagh, said: “It takes you, it’s the abyss you fall into. Love overtakes you, and this album is about surrendering to that feeling.” See the cover below Art and track listings.
We will be premiering the last single from the album, “Dance In The Dark”. It’s a swirling, mesmerizing track, with nuanced vocals floating over a bed of guitars and synths, muted at first before growing into a growl. The band says the song “was written in the midst of challenging monogamy: an exploration of sex, romance, relational anarchy, and the new ways we can be together,” which you can watch below by Chang and Carson Accompanying video produced by Thiel.
