Mount Kimbie, who have transformed from an electronic duo into an indie rock-leaning full band, have shared another song from their upcoming album The Sunset Violent. “Empty and Silent” features frequent collaborator King Krule and rides a warm motorik groove.
“This song started out in the desert and helped us figure out the sound of the album but it really came to life back in London,” Mount Kimbie say. “We set up to record the track in the studio and most of what you hear is us figuring out the song as we go.” You can watch the video below.
The Sunset Violent, which features another King Krule collab, “Boxing,” is out April 5 via Warp, and they’ll be on tour this spring surrounding their appearance at Movement fest in Detroit, including a NYC show at Webster Hall on May 29 with Chanel Beads. All dates are listed below.
