MXPX / THE ATARIS
Veteran pop punk bands MXPX and The Ataris are teaming up for some shows together in 2024, including NYC’s Webster Hall on February 9. Tickets go on sale Friday (10/13).
GRUFF RHYS
Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals was to have opened for This is the Kit tonight at NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge and played a solo show at Brooklyn’s Union Pool on Thursday, but due to visa issues, he’s not going to make it for either. Gruff says he hopes to have everything sorted in time for Friday’s show in Philly with This is the Kit. Let’s hope the Union Pool show will be rescheduled!
THE KOOKS / THE VACCINES
Nostalgic for late-’00s UK indie? The Kooks and The Vaccines have announced a 2024 North American tour celebrating the 15th anniversary of The Kooks’ Inside In / Inside Out that kicks off February 29 in Atlanta and hits NYC on March 11 at Terminal 5 with Daisy the Great also on the bill.
FENNE LILY
Fenne Lily has announced three-show residencies in Brooklyn and London in December, where she’ll play one of her albums — 2018’s On Hold, 2020’s BREACH, and Big Picture — in full each night.
ZAKK SABBATH
Zakk Sabbath, the Black Sabbath cover band fronted by Ozzy Osbourne guitarist (and Black Label Society leader) Zakk Wylde, have announced the Tour Forever / Forever Tour, that kicks off December 5 in Sacramento and grinds to a halt on January 20 in Los Angeles, including a Sayreville, NJ show at Starland Ballroom on January 5.
PITCHFORK PRESENTS 100 GECS & MORE
Pitchfork‘s next Pitchfork Presents show will happen in December at Knockdown Center with the genre-diverse lineup of hyperpop trailblazers 100 gecs, Texas rapper TisaKorean, Brooklyn black metal experimentalists Liturgy, and more TBA.
60 SONGS THAT EXPLAIN THE ’90S / BANDSPLAIN LIVE
Rob Harvilla’s podcast 60 Songs That Explain the ’90s is coming to a close soon (and went 60 songs past 60) and his book of the same name will be out November 7. To celebrate both, Rob will talk about the pod, the book and more with fellow The Ringer podcaster Yasi Salek of Bandsplain, plus Chris Ryan (The Watch) at Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom on November 16. That’s a lot of ‘splaining for one night.
TWO MINUTES TO LATE NIGHT
Two Minutes to Late Night pivoted to guest-filled covers videos when the world went into lockdown, but now they’ve announced their first talk show in front of a live audience since 2018.
HOTLINE TNT
Hotline TNT’s new album Cartwheel is out November 3 via Third Man, and the band have upcoming tours with Sheer Mag, Quicksand, and Wednesday. They’ve also got two NYC shows this month.
ALLEGRA KRIEGER
NYC-based singer-songwriter Allegra Krieger just announced a new EP and has a few US shows coming up, including a just-announced hometown gig.
ELEPHANT STONE
Long-running Montreal psych band Elephant Stone have announced Back Into the Dream, their sixth album, which will be out February 23 via Elephants on Parade, and they’ll be on tour in March.
