Nation of Language are in the midst of a sold-out three-night hometown run at Bowery Ballroom. They’ve been having fun with these, as each night features different opener, with the setlist chosen by a different member of the band. Saturday night’s was picked by frontman Ian Devaney, Sunday night was picked by Aidan Noell, and tonight (3/4) is picked by Alex MacKay. This means they’re playing some deep cuts, especially Saturday, where they played three songs they’d never performed live before.
Both Saturday and Sunday’s shows also featured a cover where they were joined by someone from the opening act. Saturday night had Jayson Green come out during the encore for a rendition of the Cheers theme, and on Saturday Guerilla Toss‘ Kassie Carlson joined them to cover The Nerves’ “Many Roads to Follow.”
Check out photos from Sunday’s show with Guerilla Toss and DJ Abe Seifert, plus setlists from the first two nights and video of the Cheers theme cover, below.
Nation of Language wrap up their Bowery run tonight with Tomberlin opening.
