Actor, musician and writer Gregg Turkington and producer and arranger Erik Paparozzi have announced a new album as “America’s Funnyman,” Neil Hamburger. Neil Hamburger Presents Seasonal Depression Suite is due out November 17 via Drag City, and it features appearances from Neil Finn, Annabella Lwin, Alan Bishop, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Puddles Pity Party, Natalie Peyser, J.P. Hasson, and A.J. Lambert. According to a press release, the album is “filtered through the lens of various guests stuck in a perfectly average chain-hotel during the holiday season, wallowing in self-pity and paranoia, re-living personal catastrophes both real and imagined, or simply trying to use the hotel vending machine.” See the cover art and tracklist below.
The first single is “Maids Can’t Mop Up Memories,” which features vocals from Puddles City Party. He also stars in the video, which you can watch below.
Neil Hamburger has a show coming up in Brooklyn this fall, at The Bell House on November 15 with Major Entertainer. Tickets are on sale now.
