New Order‘s essential 1987 12″ singles collection Substance is getting a deluxe CD box set edition as well as its first-ever vinyl reissue. There’s a cassette edition as well and they’re all out November 10 via Warner Music.
All versions feature a remastered edition of the original 12-track album that includes “Blue Monday,” “Temptation,” “Movement,” “Thieves Like Us,” “True Faith,” and more. The CD box set includes the original bonus disc featuring “1963,” great b-sides “Lonesome Tonight” and “Murder,” and more, plus a third disc featuring the original versions of “Tempation” and “Confusion,” dub versions, instrumentals and other versions. The final disc is New Order’s full 1987 live performance at Los Angeles’ Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre where they played Substance in full.
Additionally, New Order are repressing three different 12″ singles from the era: “True Faith,” the Shep Pettibone remix of “True Faith”; and their 1988 update of “Blue Monday.” Those are out November 10 as well
