So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

BUDDY & JULIE MILLER – “DON’T MAKE HER CRY” (CO-WRITTEN BY BOB DYLAN)
Veteran–and married–duo Buddy & Julie Miller will release new album In the Throes on September 22 via New West. New single “Don’t Make Her Cry” has a rare co-writing credit by Bob Dylan, and it was also written with Regina McCrary, who toured in Dylan’s band from 1978-1985. “‘Don’t Make Her Cry’ were the words Regina McCrary’s father, Reverend Sam McCrary, said to Bob when they met at a Nashville show in 1978 shortly after she joined his band,” Buddy told SPIN. “Three decades later, they finally wrote lyrics to the song together in Huntsville, Al. When it came to writing the music, Bob said to Regina, ‘give it to Buddy Miller.’ I then passed it to Julie, who added more lyrics, moved others around, and set it to music.”

GLASSER – “ALL LOVERS”
“It just kind of happened,” Glasser says of this new single. “I didn’t really have a great lyrical plan. I was going through a break-up, and I just sang some of the words that were on the page and felt their shape more than their meaning. On the last record I sometimes felt I was labouring words that I then regretted later. I really struggled with myself and my identity around that because I think of myself an articulate person, but this is just another area for me. I am articulate in speech, but I’m more of a melodic person. I think the colour conveys the message better than my words ever could.” It’s from Crux, Glasser’s first album in a decade, that will be out in October.

So writing for this pre existing story with its themes, characters, beautiful imagery and the incredible soundscape Sebastian had created. It both came easy and was a genuine pleasure.”
