Nick Cave began his fall solo tour on Tuesday night (9/19) at Asheville, NC’s Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. Accompanied by Colin Greenwood of Radiohead on bass, he played for two and a half hours, abandoning the setlist halfway through to take requests from the crowd. Two of Nick’s collaborative tracks with Warren Ellis from 2021’s Carnage, the title track and “Balcony Man,” got their first solo performance, as did Bad Seeds tracks “Give Us a Kiss” and “I Need You.”
Nick ended the night with Grinderman track “Man in the Moon” (he also played another Grinderman cut, “Palaces of Montezuma,” during the encore), and you can see his setlist, and attendee-taken video from the show, below.
Nick’s tour heads to NYC in October for shows at Kings Theatre on October 6 and Beacon Theatre on October 7 and October 8. Limited tickets are still available for all three, and we’re giving away a pair of tickets to the 10/8 show at Beacon Theatre. Enter for a chance to win below.
