Manchester City midfielder, Rodri, will miss next month’s Premier League clash against Arsenal after he was sent off for violent conduct against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
City defeated Forest 2-0 in the Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium, thanks to goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland.
Rodri was involved in a clash with Morgan Gibbs-White a minute after restart.
The Spaniard had been attempting to usher the ball out of play under pressure from the Forest forward, whose presence appeared to annoy him.
Both players squared up to one another but it was Rodri who was given a red card after he appeared to place his hands around his opponent’s neck.
Gibbs-White may have exaggerated the contact and fell to the floor after Rodri had another nibble at him and VAR was left with no option but to send him off.
Rodri will now be forced to sit out Man City’s next three matches which includes the Arsenal clash on October 8.
