Olivia Rodrigo woke up bright and early to celebrate her new album GUTS with a live performance on TODAY Friday (September 8th). Along with the record’s lead single “vampire” (which we named Song of the Week), the singer debuted her new song “get him back!” and dusted off her 2021 tunes “drivers license” and “good 4 u.”
It might’ve been an early morning, but nobody on the TODAY Plaza looked tired — and even if Rodrigo had gotten a little too sleepy on stage, it sounds like the audience members would’ve gladly filled in the words for her alongside her all-female band.
Rodrigo also chatted with hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb about taking a poetry class to beef up her songwriting and the pressure of following up her debut album SOUR. Watch clips of the episode below.
GUTS is available to stream now. Rodrigo also recently revealed how Jack White, Kathleen Hanna, and St. Vincent all mentored her in the making of the album.
