Earlier this month, A24 announced a Stop Making Sense tribute album honoring the 40th anniversary of Talking Heads’ seminal film and soundtrack. Now, the first single — a cover of “Burning Down the House” by Paramore — and the full roster of artists involved have arrived.
Titled Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense, the 16-track album will mirror the tracklist of the 1984 original (which was just re-released itself). Joining Paramore on the lineup will be: Lorde, The National, Miley Cyrus, The Linda Lindas, Toro y Moi, Kevin Abstract, BADBADNOTGOOD, Chicano Batman, Blondshell, The Cavemen, DJ Tunez, El Mató a un Policía Motorizado, girl in red, Jean Dawson, and Teezo Touchdown.
The specifics as to which artist will be covering which song has yet to be released, as has the actual release date itself. Paramore announced their involvement with the project earlier this month, sharing a preview clip of the music video for their take on “Burning Down the House” via Instagram. Watch the full video below.
A24 acquired the rights to Stop Making Sense and released a restored 4K print of the film in theaters this past fall. The occasion proved to be historic: not only did Talking Heads’ David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison reunite for the first time in 20 years for a Q&A and screening, but the weeks-long theatrical run out-grossed the film’s original 10-month run, becoming the highest-grossing live event in IMAX history.
Based on the success of the first run — and up to the film’s official 40th anniversary this summer — A24 has even brought the film back to theaters this month. Going forward, it will enjoy “monthly residency screenings” in several cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto and more. Get tickets here.

In other Talking Heads news, a report arrived on Tuesday revealing that Coachella and Live Nation both attempted to book reunion shows for the band, but failed to make any deal happen.
As for Paramore, they’re gearing up to play at Lollapalooza Brasil, taking place March 22nd through 24th. After that, they’ll join Taylor Swift for a European leg of the “Eras Tour.” Grab tickets here, and be sure to check out Hayley Williams’ interview with Dolly Parton, which was Consequence’s November cover story.
