Porcupine Tree‘s Steven Wilson has announced The Harmony Codex, his seventh solo album, that will be out September 29 via Steven Wilson Productions. He wrote, performed and produced almost all of it on his own with a little help from regular collaborators Ninet Tayeb, Craig Blundell, and Adam Holzman, along with first-time contributors Jack Dangers (Meat Beat Manifesto) and Sam Fogarino (Interpol). Wilson calls it “a real trip, a beautiful and experimental 65 minute labyrinth of a record, with almost every one of its 10 tracks taking a different musical approach.”
The first single from the record is the elegant “Economies of Scale,” with flowing piano set against ticking drum machines. The modern-dance choreographed video was directed by Charlie Di Placido, who did similarly beautiful videos for Everything But the Girl. Watch that below.
