The Premier League body has announced the winner of the player of the month award for August 2023.
The Premier League announced James Maddison as the player with the most votes among those who were nominated for the award. The English international has been in fantastic form since he joined Tottenham and has been a key part of the club’s success this season.
The former Leicester City midfielder scored a goal which came against Bournemouth and also had two assists against Brentford. The 26-year-old also created nine chances in August and made 25 crosses, the third-most in the Premier League.
He beat Taiwo Awoniyi, Rodri, Kaoru Mitoma, Bryan Mbuemo and Jarred Bowen to win this award after public votes were combined with those of a panel of football experts.
Tottenham supporters will hope he continues on this form throughout the season as they look to finish in a UEFA Champions League spot and most likely win a trophy.
