Prune The project is led by Northampton, Massachusetts musician Izzy Hagerup, also a member of Kevin McMahon’s band pelican sports collective, she is preparing to release her debut album through the window Available August 25th via Exploding In Sound (pre-order). They say you spend your life writing your debut album, and that really applies here; Izzy started composing material for the album about a decade ago and didn’t finish it until she co-produced it with Kevin at his Marcata studio and recorded these songs. Izzy wrote, performed and recorded everything on this album, but Prewn has grown into a full band – featuring Mia Huggs (bass), Calvin Parent (guitar), Karl Helander (drums) done—and the full-band recording is ready to follow.
first single from through the window “But I Want More” is a climactic song that harkens back to the weird folk era of the mid-2000s, with some unpredictable twists and turns. It’s a very promising first taste, and you can hear it below.
