Princess Goes (fka Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum), the trio of actor Michael C Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under), Matt Katz-Bohen (Blondie, Cyndie Lauper) and drummer Peter Yanowitz (they met while all working on Hedwig on Broadway), are gearing up to release their second album, Come of Age, on October 6 via SO In De Goot Recordings. They co-produced it with Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus collaborator Brandon Bost, and you can check out the artwork and tracklist below.
We’ve got the premiere of video for the album’s new single, “Blur,” that Matt Katz-Bohen describes as “flirting with the finality of its own fruition as layers of more synth, bass guitar and drums reveal themselves,” adding, “Michael’s poignant, aching lyrics and melody go from soft to epic, culminating in an MGMT/Human League chorus of loving synth transcendence: Baby, I’m full grown now.” There’s a little M83 in there too — watch the video below.
Princess Goes will play a Come of Age release show at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere Rooftop on September 20, which also serves as a warm-up to their UK/EU fall tour. All dates are listed below.
