Following their surprise July EP Roxi’s Dream Part One, Portland duo Pure Bathing Culture have announced a new full-length album, Chalice, due out November 10 via First City Artists. It’s their first LP of original material since 2019’s Night Pass, and they co-recorded, produced and mixed it with Justin Chase in Oregon in 2021. “It was the first time out of our home in Portland since the pandemic began,” they say, “and there was something really magical about being in a small western town that was also opening up for the first time.”
“This collection of songs is about the ritual of creativity, progress and transformation, the search for transcendence and joy, and the ability to overcome the things that haunt us,” Sarah Versprille and Daniel Hindman continue, adding, “Texturally and sonically we wanted the music to feel warm and rejuvenating.” See the cover art and tracklist below.
