So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

A. SAVAGE (PARQUET COURTS) – “DAVID’S DEAD”
Parquet Courts’ A. Savage releases new solo album Several Songs About Fire this week and just ahead of that he’s shared another song. This one eulogizes his friend David Lester. “Well I can tell you that it’s a portrait of the block in New York City that I called home for over a decade, each line sort of a tally of things that had changed in that time,” Savage says. “I can tell you that David’s passing made some of those changes much more evident than they were before. I can tell you that the last time I saw David I bought him both a black coffee and a can of Crazy Stallion, and that we drank a coffee together on my stoop, but I said ‘see ya later’ when he cracked open the tallboy.”

CORY HANSON (WAND) – “WESTERN CUM”
Wand’s Cory Hanson released new solo album Western Cum this summer and now he’s released what would’ve been the title track if it had actually appeared on the album. It’s a little rawer than anything on the album, with a big anthemic chorus.

TRUTH CLUB – “SIPHON”
Truth Club have shared one last song off of their upcoming album Running for the Chase before the whole thing drops on Friday. “The process of bringing ‘Siphon’ to life was an exciting one,” drummer Elise Jaffe says. “While Travis, Yvonne, and I put together the core structure of the song, Kam was coming back to us with new and crazy guitar lines at every practice that drastically changed the whole feel of the song. The collaborative nature of writing ‘Siphon’ made it feel so fresh for all of us, and reinforced the rewarding nature of making music together as a band.”

CHROMEO – “PERSONAL EFFECTS”
Electro duo Chromeo will release new album Adult Contemporary on February 16 and they’ve just shared the new single from it. “This is the last song we added on the album,” says Dave 1. “I was on a flight and the pilot said, ‘please don’t forget your personal effects’ and I was like, ‘wait how come this isn’t a Chromeo song title?!’ We felt like we needed a little breezy funk…something warm and fuzzy to bop to. You notice that long instrumental bit at the end? That’s definitely a motif on the album: extended sections where we let the music ride out. Adult Contemporary is a meditation on modern, mature relationships, which means: if we gotta sing about curling irons, so be it.”
