R.E.M. announce ‘Up’ 25th anniversary reissue, share “Daysleeper (Party of Five recording)”

R.E.M. will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1998 album Up with a variety of reissues ranging from a remastered double vinyl edition (preorder) to a deluxe 2-CD / 1-Blu-ray set. They’re out November 10 via Craft Recordings.

Up was the 11th album by R.E.M., and the first following the departure of drummer Bill Berry. It found them adding electronics to their jangly sound.

The Deluxe and Expanded CD editions include an 11-song live performance taped on the set of ’90s FOX drama Party of Five (they guested on a 1999 episode which was their first Prime Time Television appearance) and you can listen to “Daysleeper” from that below.

The Blu-ray disc in the Deluxe Edition includes a surround sound mix, a High Resolution Audio mix, the original press kit, videos for singles “Daysleeper,” “Lotus,” and “At My Most Beautiful,” and more.
