So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

BDRMM – “MUD”
Following this year’s excellent I Don’t Know, UK band bdrmm are already back with a new single, “Mud,” that will be out as a 7″ on November 10 via Mogwai’s Rock Action Records. Recorded during the same sessions as the album, “Mud” pretty different for them, atmospheric and heavy on the synths. “Mud is a track about approaching loss,” says frontman Ryan Smith. “Trying to cope with the end before it has even happened. The memories created are in fear of being washed away, and by keeping hold of them. You’re doing more harm than good.”

A BEACON SCHOOL – “MANTRA”
A Beacon School release new album yoyo this week and here’s one final preview. “Mantra is the last song on the album, and it states plainly everything I’ve been trying to get across on the rest of the album (and probably in every song I’ve ever written),” says the group’s Patrick Smith. “The main phrase that repeats through the song was something I just blurted out for the demo and planned to eventually change. I was embarrassed at how blunt the words are, but thankfully (ABS bass player) Chase convinced me to keep them the way they are. We agreed there’s power in stating what you feel directly, in this case: ‘Everything I don’t want to change is changing, Everyone I don’t want to leave is leaving, Everything I want to change is staying the same, Everyone that I want to stay is leaving.””
