The 2023 Riot Fest set times are here. As always, having a stacked lineup means having some of conflicts. Here are some:
On Friday, The Breeders (playing Last Splash), Braid (playing Frame & Canvas), and Say Anything are all up against each other. Quicksand (playing Slip), Bayside, Screaming Females, and Ani DiFranco are up against each other. Turnstile are up against Tegan and Sara. There’s also some overlap between Kim Gordon and The Interrupters; and between Yard Act and Parliament-Funkadelic. Fans of emo/punk’s newer generation have to choose between Origami Angel and Pinkshift at 12:50 PM.
On Saturday, headliners The Postal Service (playing Give Up) are up against Mr. Bungle, while Ben Gibbard’s other band Death Cab For Cutie (playing Transatlanticism) are up against 100 gecs. There’s also some overlap between Queens of the Stone Age and Insane Clown Posse, and between PUP, Death Grips, 070 Shake, and Eshu Tune (aka Hannibal Buress). Earlier in the day, Rival Schools (playing United by Fate) overlap with High Vis.
On Sunday, headliners The Cure play unopposed, but right before them, it’s The Mars Volta vs Godspeed You! Black Emperor vs The Gaslight Anthem vs The Used. Fans of Gorilla Biscuits (playing Start Today), The Dresden Dolls, and Finch may have some choices to make too. AFI are up against post-hardcore supergroup L.S. Dunes (members of My Chemical Romance, Thursday, Circa Survive, and Coheed & Cambria), H2O, and part of Flogging Molly. There’s also Ride vs The Bronx; some overlap between Balance and Composure, Fleshwater, and The Black Angels; and Thursday vs Nothing. When the music kicks off at noon, it’s between Free Throw and Hotline TNT.
Other artists playing the fest include Foo Fighters, Code Orange, Head Automatica, Quasi, Snapcase, Warpaint, Earth Crisis, Pool Kids (who are very worth getting there at 12:10 PM on Saturday for), and more.
