So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
ROGER WATERS – “TIME” (PINK FLOYD COVER)
As you may have heard former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters has re-recorded the band’s classic, Dark Side of the Moon, in its entirety for a release on October 6. Here’s his new version of “Time”.

LIFEGUARD – “IN THE CITY” (THE JAM COVER)
Chicago upstarts Lifeguard have shared this cover of The Jam’s iconic debut single which they recorded live at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio studios. They don’t mess with it at all, but nail the song’s hooks and harmonies.

PRONOUN – “SLAP ME IN THE FACE”
Alyse Vellturo is back with her first new music as Pronoun since her 2021 OMG I MADE IT EP. “‘SLAP ME IN THE FACE’ is about a crazy night in with someone that turned into an internal joke of what if the world was literally fucking you,” she says. “It’s about wanting a better situation but giving in and getting stuck in a moment where everything doesn’t feel horrible.This song poured out of me in one sitting; written, recorded, and produced in one day. The songs I feel the most about, always seem to come this way.”

HOME IS WHERE – “FLORAL ORGANS” (ACOUSTIC)
Home Is Where have released an acoustic session for “Floral Organs,” one of the many highlights from this year’s excellent The Whaler.

LA FORCE – “HOW DO YOU LOVE A MAN”
XO SKELETON, the new La Force album from Broken Social Scene’s Ariel Engle, is out in September, and she’s shared the third single, “how do you love a man.” “How do you continue to give and receive love when the person you love is dead?” she says. “It’s about loving into a void. It’s about loving and communing with the spirit of a dead atheist who didn’t believe in spirit.”

HARD FEELINGS – “PRAY FOR FORGIVENESS”
Connecticut’s Hard Feelings will release new EP The Devil You Know on September 29 via Heroes + Martyrs, and new single “Pray For Forgiveness” is a dose of fast, rippin’ hardcore punk.

WORRIERS – “CLOUDY AND 55”
“This song is for your soundtrack to missing Autumn in New York, where every corner has a memory you can’t shake,” Lauren Denitzio says of Worriers’ latest single. “It’s my song for walking down 5th Avenue in Brooklyn in a denim jacket with big headphones on after it rains when you need to transport yourself back to a different season of your life. It’s not just about the longing for a specific place or time but also about having a deep history with a city where it just becomes a part of you and your relationships. It’s about missing someone in the way where you still see them everywhere.” It’s from their new album Trust Your Gut.

AUDREY NUNA – “LOCKET”
NJ rapper Audrey Nuna puts a fresh update on Huey’s mid 2000s crunk classic “Pop, Lock & Drop It” with her new single “Locket.”

SMALL CRUSH – “RUMBLIN’ TUMMY”
Bay Area indie-punks Small Crush will release their sophomore album Penelope on September 15 via Asian Man Records, and singer/guitarist Logan Hammon says their fuzzy new single “Rumblin’ Tummy” is a song about “staying in love and getting butterflies in your stomach no matter how long it’s been.”

SEEYOUSPACECOWBOY – “CHEWING THE SCENERY”
SeeYouSpaceCowboy have released “Chewing The Scenery,” their first proper new single since 2021, and you can read about it here.

FÖLLAKZOID – “V-II”
Chilean artist Föllakzoid’s first album in four years will be out September 22 via Sacred Bones. If this track is any indication, they’ve gone trance/techno (ok by us!).

PRINCE & NEW POWER GENERATION – “ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS” & “INSATIABLE (EARLY MIX)”

SILENT PLANET – “COLLIDER”
Silent Planet announced a new album, SUPERBLOOM, and shared another early taste, “Collider.” Read more about it here, and pre-order our exclusive aqua blue vinyl variant, limited to 300 copies.

PRINCESS GOES (MICHAEL C HALL) – “BLUR”
Princess Goes (fka Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum), the trio of actor Michael C Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under), Matt Katz-Bohen (Blondie, Cyndie Lauper) and drummer Peter Yanowitz (they met while all working on Hedwig on Broadway), are gearing up to release their second album, Come of Age, on October 6. New single “Blur” has an M83 vibe to it.
