As you may have heard, whether the world needs this or not, roger waters re-recorded Pink Floyd (band name)of dark side of the moon, and this “Redux” is now Release Date: October 6, via SGB Music / Cooking Vinyl. Roger put it this way:
The original Dark Side of the Moon somehow felt like an elder lamenting the human condition. But Dave, Rick, Nick, and I were young when we created it, and when you look at the world around us, it’s clear that the message wasn’t firmly held in mind. That’s why I started thinking about what an 80-year-old’s wisdom could bring to a reimagined version.
“When I first mentioned the idea of re-recording The Dark Side of the Moon to Gus and Sean, we both thought I was crazy, but the more we thought about it, the more we were like, ‘Isn’t that the point?’”
“I’m very proud of what we’ve created, a work that can proudly join hands with the original over half a century.
How “reimagined” is this? More than you can imagine.he shared his Final version The version of “Money,” originally sung by David Gilmour, gets a Tom Waits/Leonard Cohen rumpled suit makeover here. You can watch a lyric video, a video of Floyd’s original composition, and a video about the production Final versionthe following.
