Ex-Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach has released his first new solo song in nearly a decade, “What Do I Got to Lose?,” on the heels of his appearance as Tiki on The Masked Singer.
Bach co-wrote the song with fellow rock frontman Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge, Slash) and producer Elvis Baskette. It’s a chunky, mid-tempo rocker that falls right in Sebastian’s wheelhouse with its lyrical bravado and a key change in the chorus that lets him stretch his legendary vocal range.
“To me, ‘What Do I Got To Lose?’ is the perfect sentiment for me right now,” Bach said via a press release. “It’s an anthem for coming back and crushing it. It’s time to lay down the law and put the hammer down old school-style.”
The single is the first solo material from Bach since 2014’s Give ‘Em Hell and marks his first release on the Reigning Phoenix Music imprint. The singer revealed that he’s been working on a studio album for over eight years, and it appears to be nearing release on the label.
“I cannot express enough how happy I am to have a full and complete team of rock and roll professionals on my side with RPM music,” said Sebastian. “We have been working on this record together for over eight years and I could not be more proud of the results!”
Bach is parlaying the new single drop with his recent appearance on The Masked Singer as Tiki. He was revealed after performing KISS’ “I Was Made for Lovin’ You,” as he was voted out during the semifinals.
“It was great making new friends and getting to put on a crazy show with awesome music!” he said of his role on the show. “Thank you to Nick Cannon and all at The Masked Singer! Would love to do it again sometime!”
