New York hardcore / post-hardcore greats Shelter and CIV are both back for the first time in a while, and they’ve announced some Northeast shows for this spring!
The shows include Hamden, CT (Space Ballroom on 4/4) with Almighty Watching and Clearbody; Philly (Broken Goblet on 4/5) with not-yet-announced special guests; Pawtucket, RI (The Met on 4/6) with COA, Anklebiter, Attrition Rate, and What Counts; and NYC (Bowery Ballroom on April 7) with Rule Them All and more TBA. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday, January 12 at 10 AM.
In the time since Shelter last played, Ray Cappo and Porcell have also been busy playing with their previous band, Youth of Today (who also have some shows coming up this year). It’s been even longer since CIV played, and Anthony “CIV” Civarelli, Arthur Smilios, and Charlie Garriga have since been busy with Gorilla Biscuits, who are playing this year’s Punk Rock Bowling.
Ray, Porcell, and CIV songwriter/Gorilla Biscuits member Walter Schreifels were all interviewed for the Glassjaw 30th anniversary book that was made by BrooklynVegan and Revolver and can be purchased alongside the band’s new vinyl reissues in the BV shop.
CIV also has a new book out about his time as a roadie for Youth of Today.
