San Francisco band Spiritual Cramp will release their self-titled debut album on November 3 and they’ve just offered up a new single. “Herberts on Holiday” is very 2003, sounding a bit like a Interpol / Strokes mashup.
Lyrically, frontman Michael Bingham says the song is about his wife. “It’s hard to quickly summarize in a clip the impact she has had on my life but I can say with all honesty everything I have in my life today is because of her,” Bingham says. “To this day I am constantly making mistakes and oftentimes not living up to my fullest potential. But through the 18 years of knowing her, she’s never rubbed my face in it. All she’s ever done is cheer me on – even if I don’t feel like I deserve it.”
You can watch the song’s video below.
Spiritual Cramp’s tour with Teenage Wrist just hit Brooklyn last week, and they’ve got upcoming dates with Militarie Gun, Soft Kill and Unbroken. They’ve also added a Brooklyn headline show at Union Pool on October 29. All dates are listed below.
