So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
CITIZEN – “HYPER TROPHY”
Citizen have shared the second single from their upcoming album Calling The Dogs, and after the tender lead single “If You’re Lonely,” this one brings back the post-punk backbone of 2021’s Life In Your Glass World. COLOURING – “LUNE”
Colouring, aka UK singer-songwriter Jack Kenworthy, has signed to Bella Union and released his debut single for the label. “Lune” pulses gently with gently rolling piano and a jazzy backbeat that is a little reminiscent of early Coldplay. THIS IS LORELEI (WATER FROM YOUR EYES’ NATE AMOS) – “THE LAUGHTER REMAINS”
Inspired by the waltzes of Shane MacGowan and the poetry of Emily Dickinson, I wrote it as a song of comfort for myself at a time when I was undergoing intense therapy and felt in the midst of a painful but ultimately worthwhile personal transformation,” says Water from Your Eyes’ Nate Amos of this new song released under his This is Lorelei moniker. “Music is and always has been an outlet for me, but in this particular case it really gave me a boost when I felt unboostable. Listening to the song now I realize that I was more equipped to navigate emotionally tumultuous terrain than I gave myself credit for at the time. It’s a song about a future that is always there, in one form or another, and will always be worth looking forward to.” EP #33 is out Friday.

They run around the city making sparks fly and getting up to no good. I wanted to do all that.”

Counted it in like Prince, and cranked up the backbeat. Pretty simple and classic formula: power in vulnerability”
