Staind fleshed out the details of their upcoming album, Confessions of the Fallen, which will mark the band’s first new album since 2011. The 10-track LP will be released September 15th via Alchemy Recordings/BMG. Additionally, Stander debuted a new song off-set—the searing “Cycle of Hurting.”
“Cycle of Hurting” is classic Staind, with heavy guitars, dark beats and Aaron Lewis’ tortured vocals, including some intense growls. “How do I face what’s beneath the surface when nothing is working? / How do I break out of the cycle of burden/harm?” Lead singer Aaron Lewis sang in the choir.
Regarding the dark lyrics of “Cycle of Hurting,” Lewis said in a press release, “I’m still working out my problems. Still working out my problems, and I’ll be dreaming of better days until then. I hope that’s How everyone feels right now … better days are yet to come.”
“Cycle of Hurting” follows Staind’s previous single “Lowest in Me,” which was released in April. Confessions of the Fallen It was announced that month, but no release date or tracklist had been revealed at the time.
In other news, Staind plans to hit the road with Godsmack this summer on a US tour. The tour begins July 18 in St. Louis, Missouri and ends August 31 in Austin, Texas. Tickets can be purchased here.
