Philly’s Johnny Football Hero have just followed their great 2021 EP Complacency with a new single, “Sock It To ‘Em.” Directed at singer/guitarist Reilly James’ sister’s ex-boyfriend, it’s a biting song that deals with grooming and manipulation and it kinda sounds like if Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge-era My Chemical Romance was more rooted in mathy post-hardcore. And like My Chem did in the very early days, Johnny Football Hero sound like a basement band who are already built for big stages. Listen below.
