So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. WILD RED – JIMMY EP
Wilkes-Barre, PA’s Wild Red (members of Fantasy Camp, One Step Closer, and Choice To Make) have dropped off a new four-song EP of catchy, no-frills, indie-pop punk songs.

SLANT – DEMO 2023
In certain circles, Seoul hardcore band Slant’s 2021 debut album has gone down as one of the best hardcore LPs in recent memory, so it’s very good news that now they’re back with a new demo. It’s got three raw, fast rippers and it’s making us excited to hear more.

TAKING MEDS – “THE OTHER END”
Before Taking Meds release their new album Dial M For For Meds this Friday (9/1), they’ve shared another of its roaring, anthemic punk songs.

LYDIA LOVELESS – “SEX AND MONEY”
Lydia Loveless has shared another single from Nothing’s Gonna Stand In My Way Again, and it’s a warm, rockin’ Americana song that comes with a Katie Harriman-directed video that puts a comedic spin on the “all I think about is sex and money” hook.

FALL – “501C3”
Louisville hardcore band FALL deliver sludgy guitars and a politically/socially-conscious message on new single “501c3.”

EXHUMED – BEYOND THE DEAD EP
San Jose death metallers Exhumed have shared this new EP, of which band leader Matt Harvey says, “These songs are a nice capstone to the last couple years, which started with our Worming EP and continued with our last record, To the Dead. I think we’ve gelled better than ever as a band are firing on all cylinders – and that these releases of ‘extra tracks’ feature stuff that’s just as strong as the tunes on the records.”

CRACK CLOUD – “COSTLY ENGINEERED ILLUSION” & “TUNNEL VISION” (LIVE)
Vancouver collective Crack Cloud are releasing a live album, Crackin Up: Live in London, this week which was recorded at the Hackney on October 21, 2022. The show featured an augmented lineup with a choir and string section and you can check out two songs now.

TY SEGALL – “VOID”
Ty Segall is back with a new single, “Void,” a nearly seven-minute leviathan that picks up where his 2021 album Harmonizer left off. This one’s more groove oriented, with guitars taking a back seat to the rhythm section and harmonies, but it eventually builds to a rolling, glammy boil.

MANNEQUIN PUSSY – “I GOT HEAVEN”
Philly punks Mannequin Pussy have released a new single, “I Got Heaven,” and you can read about the song’s themes and its video here.

THE PARANOID STYLE – “I LOVE THE SOUND OF STRUCTURED CLASS”
Music and culture writer Elizabeth Nelson (Pitchfork, The Ringer) has also been making her own brand of rock n’ roll as The Paranoid Style for the last 10 years. She’s just announced her new album, The Interrogator, which features new fulltime member Peter Holsapple (The dB’s) and will be out February 2.
