“It has taken seven years to make this film and album,” Skinner said in a statement. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and after experimenting with some short films and music videos, I feel like I’m ready. I’ve tried going the traditional route, but it’s always better for me to follow my instincts and do it myself , so I directed it, acted in it, edited it, mixed it, financed it, produced it all, and wrote it. Without it, this album wouldn’t exist. Ultimately, it’s a decade of DJ tour All the results, watching people in clubs and backrooms, testing beats and basslines, seeing what connects, and putting it all together The darker the shadow, the brighter the light“.
New track “Troubled Waters,” featuring a staccato melody, sounds like it should be an upbeat pop song, but in his lyrics, Skinner ponders something more serious. “When you hurt your fellow man, is it nature or nurture?” he asked. Listen to the single below.
