Thursday just wrapped up their War All The Time 20th anniversary tour with Rival Schools and former Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckley’s new band Many Eyes with an awesome Irving Plaza show (pics, review), and now Thursday and Many Eyes have announced four more shows together for this April, this time with Cursive’s Tim Kasher. These are at smaller venues, including a 250-cap show in the band’s home state of NJ! The band says:
They say you cannot play intimate rooms after you play big ones. They say you cannot put three headline acts onto small stages together. They say you should only play big cities. They say that local venues aren’t as important as Park Ave venues. THEY ARE WRONG. Grassroots venues are where we cut our teeth, so we are very happy that come April we get to play some independently owned / regional venues in towns that mean personal things to us as people. In our illogical minds it makes perfect sense to play in Sao Paolo, BR and Millersville, PA in the same week as each other! We love that shiz! Over the last few years, we have gotten to play Festivals, Arena’s, Stadia, Theatre’s, Clubs and Boats – so we thought – ‘isn’t it time to play some even more curveball shows?’ – ‘who is down?’ @manyeyesmusic and @timkasher immediately raised their hands to join in on the fun. We are all buzzing at the thought of playing a 250 capacity room in Jersey! We invite you to submit your application to join us from 10am onwards on Friday March 1st when tickets go on sale. These four shows will be an experience no-one in the room will ever forget. The NJ show is on April 13 at Crossroads in Garwood, and they also play Albany’s Empire Underground on April 11, plus shows in Pennsylvania and New Hampshire.
