Nineties indiepop cult heroes Heavenly, led by Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey, have been reissuing the band’s catalog and playing a few reunion shows along the way. Those have all been in the UK but they’ve just announced that Heavenly will be going international in 2024. That includes a Madrid show in January and next summer they’ll be crossing the pond to play Brooklyn’s Market Hotel on June 1. This will be the group’s first US show since the mid-’90s — not that they played many back in the day — and Amelia says there are “more shows to come,” so stay tuned.
In other news, Heavenly will reissue their third album, The Decline and Fall of Heavenly, on February 2 via Fletcher and Pursey’s Skep Wax label. The album was originally released in 1994 via the legendary Sarah Records (their last for the label), and this reissue adds the entirety of the 1995 P.U.N.K. Girl / Atta Girl EP.
Skep Wax are also releasing a special Bandcamp-only CD single of P.U.N.K. Girl, as part of a package including a T-shirt, badge and postcards.
Amelia and Rob are still making music together as The Catenary Wires.
