Brooklyn emo band Good Looking Friends recently released their very fun new album Wasted Now on Acrobat Unstable, and we’re now premiering a video for one of its songs, “Ticketholder.” It’s a lighthearted clip that plays off the song’s themes, as the band explains.
“One of the major themes of ‘Ticketholder’ is how isolating it can feel to be around friends you haven’t seen in a long time,” they tell us. “Or, after Covid, being around anyone after not being around anyone for a long while. Shelley and Zach decided to really lean into that weirdness with some movement exercises- doing some very silly dances in public. We then recorded ourselves playing the song with some overly exaggerated stoicism. Then we hid in a bunch of buckets, like a hermit crab might. Our friend Tan edited the footage together and made this fun little celebration of our collective social anxiety!”
