Following their set at Power Trip fest on Sunday, Tool began their fall North American tour on Wednesday night (10/11) in Salt Lake City, where they had a surprise guest on hand. They brought out bluegrass artist Billy Strings to jam on “Jambi,” and while cell phone use is generally prohibited at Tool shows, some footage has made its way to social media; watch below.
Billy, who has previously discussed playing in metal bands in high school, and who posted pictures with Tool’s Danny Carey on social media ahead of the show, is also in the midst of a tour which stopped in Utah on Tuesday (10/10).
Tool recently announced a new leg of winter 2024 tour dates with Elder, including NYC shows at Madison Square Garden on January 12 and 13.
