Atlanta sludgy noise rockers Whores. are gearing up to release a new album, War, on April 16 via The Ghost Is Clear Records (pre-order). The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by past collaborator Ryan Boesch (whose work with bands like Melvins and Helmet has always made him a perfect match for Whores.), and new single “Sicko” finds the band sounding as heavy and gnarly as ever. If you’ve never checked out Whores. before, fans of anything from the aforementioned Melvins and Helmet to newer bands like Chat Pile should not sleep.
“‘SICKO’ is a song about finding strength through suffering,” vocalist/guitarist Christian Lembach tells us. “I’ve gone through so many injuries in the past few years, and now that I’m finally on the other side I can see that nothing will stop me. If anything, my resolve is stronger than it’s ever been. That sickness set me free. WAR.” Check out the song and the album’s two previous singles below.
