…after years of being a fall girl
I used to admit that I hated summer dressing. If I really boil it down to two main reasons. One – I’m sweating. like a lot. Much like “covered in sweat”. That alone can make summer dressing tricky.Combine this with the second reason – psoriasis that used to cover my legs and now covers my entire body – it’s not a great A recipe for warm weather clothing. Oddly, things have changed this year. I seem to be sweating less now (perhaps a postpartum issue?), but my psoriasis has flared up badly, and while I used to be able to wear pants year-round to cover it up, now I can’t really hide it, which means I’ve adopted more of a “who really cares?” attitude. method. Skirts and shorts—you’re welcome at last.
This shift in mindset, combined with adding a few pieces to my wardrobe, has been a game-changer, and the summer dress complainer is actually happy to get ready every morning. who I am? ! Here are five of my wardrobe staples so far this season…
knitted vest
Now I’m talking about lightweight knits here, so nothing “too” thick. But ever since I bought a waistcoat-inspired light button-up knit, it’s been my go-to top. With jeans? Excellent. Slightly unbuttoned with a silk skirt? Chic. shorts? It also looks great. There really isn’t anything to look at.I have MANGO oversized fine-knit cardigan*, going on sale, seems to have disappeared from the shelves, but this* Looks exactly the same, just a different color.

silk skirt
I’ve worn silk midi dresses before, but only in leopard print, and of course I’ll always have a special space in my heart – but I think I’m going for something a little simpler this summer. So from the beginning I bought DISSH Bobby pearl satin bias-cut skirt*. When worn above my hips, it falls above my ankles, but you can also wear them on your hips if you prefer a longer length (I recommend taking a size up if you plan to do so for a more comfortable fit).Pearl is out of stock, but it’s in stock Stone*. I can’t believe how many times I’ve worn them! Sure, it’s something I’d go for when I’m out at night, but it can also be paired with flip-flops and chunky knits for a windy day at the beach. Definitely a must have in my wardrobe.

Perfect Denim Shorts
I actually had a really nice pair of shorts last summer- RE/DONE Worn 70s* style. But sadly they don’t fit anymore, while the denim shorts fit perfectly. I like my high waist but not too tight so you can sit comfortably, the gusset is long enough but still on the short side, and the legs can splay out a bit – I just find it the most flattering shape on me.So I went looking and found it was AGOLDE Parker Long Shorts*This fits every criteria for me.i have now dark denim*(Oddly, smaller than my usual size) Agold – things to watch out for), and lighter wash*I feel like they fill my denim shorts quota in my closet.

barely sandals
I know how many of you are happy to see’Dad Sandals’ look. ha! While I can’t rule out their return, I prefer a more refined sandal this summer, and I feel the style has shifted from that slightly sporty look to something that feels more refined.Leading this change is the Emme Parsons Barry Sandals*.first seen on Angie Smith I snapped them up immediately and can vouch for how comfortable they are to wear.like extremely so. I was missing a pair of “slip on” chic sandals and these sandals filled that void perfectly. I know I will be sad to put them away at the end of summer.

textured bag
i have been following St Agni Bagu Woven Tote Over the years (I totally blame the Liz Hadfield For that reason! ). I don’t really own much’summer bagAside from a giant raffia bag, this category is great for travel but a bit too bulky for everyday use. So I bought it and I’m more than happy I did. It’s big enough for a trek to London with everything I need — including an iPad and water bottle — but it’s also stylish enough for dinner out. Since it’s a dark brown, I figured it would be an “out of season” color I could wear as well. It’s expensive (especially with duties and taxes included), but if you’re looking for a scam, your best bet is dragon spread* (I would say matches has the best range), remember it’s woven leather so it’s durable.
