The coach of Barcelona football club, Xavi Hernandez has signed a contract extension with the Catalonia club.
Barcelona confirmed the exciting news on its official website on Friday, September 22, 2023. Xavi Hernandez’s new deal will see him remain at the club until June with an option to extend by an extra year.
The signing took place at the Spotify Camp Nou offices in the presence of President Joan Laporta; First Vice President Rafa Yusta; Economic President, Eduard Romeu and the director of the Area of Football, Anderson Luis de Souza, ‘Deco’.
Xavi was a key part of Barcelona’s success when he was a player before he took up the managerial role. He became the club’s coach in November 2021, after leaving Al-Sadd in Qatar, he rejoined the club where he spent 24 years as a player.
Xavi has managed 96 games as coach, he has won 60, drawn 17 and lost 19 as well as claiming the Spanish Super with a 3-1 win over Real Madrid in the final and the 2022/23 La Liga title.
