So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
YEAR OF THE KNIFE – “YOUR CONTROL”
Delaware metallic hardcore band Year of the Knife have shared the third single from their upcoming LP No Love Lost, and it’s another punishing, arresting taste of this anticipated LP. In other recent YOTK news, bassist Madi Watkins was recently discharged from the hospital after being critically injured in an automobile crash the band got into in June. We’re wishing her the best.

MODERN COLOR – “FORTRESS”
As they gear up for a tour with Citizen and Narrow Head, Modern Color (who share drummer Vince Nguyen with Militarie Gun) have released the new song “Fortress.” It’s somewhere in the post-hardcore / indie rock orbit, and it’s got a pretty explosive chorus.

DEAD TIMES (THE BODY) – “BE GLAD”
Dead Times is the duo of Lee Buford (The Body, Sightless Pit) and Steven Vallot (Muslin), and their self-titled debut album arrives October 20 via Thrill Jockey. A lot of people talk about songs being ugly and beautiful at once, but “Be Glad” really earns that description.
