The great Kelley Stoltz is back with his 18th album (and first in two years), titled La Fleur and out April 12 via Dandy Boy Records in the US and Agitated Records in the UK. Kelley played nearly every instrument himself, though Jason Falkner (Beck, Jellyfish) and Fred Barnes also contributed to the album.
The first single from La Fleur is “Reni’s Car,” which is based on a (mostly) true story of when Kelley having access to The Stone Roses’ drummer’s car in Manchester. “It’s a blur of fact and fiction,” says Kelley. “It did happen but I wasn’t driving.” It’s a jangly treat, loaded with references to Manchester and Liverpool, and the video was shot on location and includes a few Stone Roses-style splatter paintings.
