So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. LES BIG BYRD: “MARELD”
Swedish psych band Les Big Byrd will release new album Diamonds, Rhinestones and Hard Rain on March 1 via Chip Limbs. The first single is the spaced-out, 10-minute opening track, “Mareld.”

KING OF HECK – “ARMY OF OK”
King of Heck will release new album Everyday Friend on February 9 via Honey TV, and along with the announcement comes the scrappy indie rock of “army of OK.”

GRAHAM HUNT – “TRY NOT TO LAUGH”
Graham Hunt, who makes his own music when not playing in live lineups of Disq and Mike Krol, will release new album Try Not To Laugh this week. “Try Not to Laugh” is appealing ’90s-style indie rock.

ZOON – “ASTUM” (YONATAN GAT REMIX)
“I had the privilege of connecting with Yonatan and the Stone Tapes crew over the last few years, getting together with other indigenous artists has been a dream of mine,” says ZOON’s Daniel Monkman of this remix of new single “Astum” by Yonatan Gat. “I’m truly grateful for the work that Stone Tapes has done to lift up indigenous voices. Yonatan is a force and when he got excited about astum and remixing I knew that it was going to be something special.”

Miami mathcore/sludge/etc vets Capsule are back with a surprise new EP, their first release in a decade, and you can read more about it here.

ESTHER ROSE – “SAFE TO RUN” FT. THE DESLONDES
Esther Run announced Safe 2 Run (versions), a new EP featuring a new song and stripped down versions of three songs from her 2023 album Safe to Run, and you can read more about the new version of the title track, which features The Deslondes, here.
