Manchester United Football Club are reportedly set to do another business with Chelsea before the 2023 summer transfer window closes.
The Red Devils are set to open talks with Chelsea for one of its defenders, Marc Cucurella. Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news exclusively on his official Twitter account on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
Manchester United are in need of a left-back following the injury that was suffered by Luke Shaw. The England International is expected to be out for the first part of the 2023/24 season. Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton during the 2022 summer transfer window, he signed a six-year deal which is expected to keep him with the Blues at least until 2028.
However, there is a possibility that Chelsea will not sell the Spaniard if they don’t find another replacement due to the exit of Lewis Hall to Newcastle United.
If the deal sees the light of day, he will be the second player that will join the Old Trafford club this season since Mason Mount completed his move for £60 million.
