St. Vincent has announced a new album, All Born Screaming, due out April 26 via Virgin Records. It’s her seventh album, the follow-up to 2021’s Daddy’s Home, and her first self-produced album. She worked on it with Rachel Eckroth, Josh Freese, Dave Grohl, Mark Guiliana, Cate Le Bon, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Stella Mogzawa, and David Ralicke, and you can see the cover art and tracklist below.
“There are some places, emotionally, that you can only get to by taking the long walk into the woods alone—to find out what your heart is really saying,” Annie Clark says of the album. “It sounds real because it is real.”
The first single is “Broken Man,” and you can watch the video, shot by Alex Da Corte, below.
In an interview with Mojo, Annie called the album “post-plague pop,” and said it “sounds urgent and psychotic, in equal parts the most caustic sound and also, I think, the most sonically blooming.” She also described it as her “least funny record yet! There’s nothing cute about it.”
