It’s a good time to be a fan of Slowcore greats The American Analog Set. They recently released their first new album in 18 years and have a Numero Group box set on the way next year. They’ve just announced details of the box, which is titled New Drifters and will be out February 9 (preorder). It’s five vinyl LPs that includes the band’s first three albums — 1996’s The Fun Of Watching Fireworks, 1997’s From Our Living Room To Yours, and 1999 The Golden Band — remastered from the original analog tapes, along with two discs worth of period b-sides, outtakes and demos. There’s also a booklet with liner notes, lyrics, rare photos, flyers and other ephemera. You can watch an unboxing video below.
The band have shared one of those previously unreleased outtakes, “Queen of Her Own Parade,” and you can listen to that below as well.
In other news, the 2003 collaborative EP between AmAnSet’s Andrew Kenny and Death Cab for Cutie‘s Ben Gibbard, titled Home, has just been given its first-ever vinyl pressing. You can order that here.
