NJ cult pop punk trio The Ergs!‘ beloved 2004 debut LP dorkrockcorkrod turns 20 this year, and they’ll be celebrating with an expanded reissue on Don Giovanni and some shows. The 2xLP reissue includes new artwork, previously unreleased photos, an oral history compiled by Mike Faloon, the original album remastered by Justin Perkins, and a remix by Steve Albini that was overseen by Mikey Erg. Along with the announcement comes the Steve Albini remix of “Extra Medium,” which follows the previously released Steve Albini remix of “Pray For Rain.” Listen to both of those below and pre-order the new reissue here.
They also announced dorkrockcorkrod 20th anniversary shows happening in Somerville, Baltimore, Philly, and one more city TBA with support from Egghead and Boris The Sprinkler. Those happen in July, a couple months after The Ergs! open the Brooklyn stop of Hot Water Music‘s 30th anniversary tour. That happens on May 11 at Brooklyn Paramount and also features Quicksand and Modern Life Is War. All dates are listed below.
