boygenius began their fall tour with the surprise announcement of a new EP, the rest (pre-order on vinyl), and while they haven’t revealed the full tracklist yet, they played one new song at each of their shows so far this run. Monday night (9/25) at Boston’s MGM Music Hall got the live debut of “Black Hole,” and Tuesday night (9/26) at the same venue got “Afraid of Heights.” Watch attendee-taken video of both below.
The next show is on Thursday (9/28) at Westville Music Bowl in New Haven, CT with Palehound, and from there they head to Philadelphia’s TD Pavilion at the Mann with Samia. Presumably they’ll debut the two remaining songs at those shows; stay tuned. The NYC show is a couple days later on October 2 at Madison Square Garden, with MUNA.
boygenius had another surprise in store for Boston night one: they brought out Hozier for the final song of the encore, “Salt in the Wound.” Watch video of that below, as well.
