DIIV are currently on tour with Depeche Mode and at their opening sets, the band have mostly kept to old favorites. They’re also playing a few headline shows in between DM dates and have been throwing in a few new songs at those. One them, “Soul Net” (which has been titled “Housejam” on Setlist.fm), now has a studio version that DIIV just shared via a pretty weird website.
Today on the band’s socials, they posted a link to the website soul-net.co, which is the kind of psychedelic geocities nightmare that looks dreamed up by 2005-era Adult Swim or the Heaven’s Gate cult. Amongst all the numerology and weird motivational copy is a media player at the bottom of the browser featuring the nine-minute song which dives deep into shoegaze territory. “Soul Net” is their first new music in four years, and you can listen to that here, and watch them play it live in Tampa earlier this month below.
DIIV open for Depeche Mode at Madison Square Garden on Saturday (10/28) and then play a headline show at Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall on November 1 with draag me and High.
